– Phân từ xong xuôi dùng để rút ngắn mệnh đề khi hành vi đó xẩy ra trước.

– dùng để làm rút ngắn mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian
VD: After he had fallen from the horse back, he was taken lớn hospital & had an operation.
→ After having fallen from the horse back, he was taken khổng lồ hospital and had an operation.
– dùng để chỉ một hành động đã hoàn thành. Hay được dùng dưới dạng: Having + P2 → Có công dụng trạng ngữ rút gọn gàng để biểu đạt hành động đã hoàn thành trước một hành động khác xảy ra trong quá khứ.
VD: Having finished all her housework, she went to the sofa.
* khi ở thể che định Not đứng trước Having + V3.
